My self-introduction and career objective (PR internship opportunity)

Dear sir or madam,

My name is Wei-Tung(Chris) Chiang and I am a 25-year-old international student who is completing the last semester of my degree at Griffith University on Gold Coast. I'm studying in Bachelor of Communication and majoring in Public Relations and Japanese. I have been living for nearly 7 years in Australia, and I am currently waiting for my Permanent Residency application approved. I have always been working part-time jobs while I am studying, and I have 4 years work experience in hospitality industry.


About myself, I am a team player with a self-motivated personality, and I have passion to work in customer services environment. I am especially interested in having interaction and communication with people. I am looking for a possible internship opportunity as a stepping stone of my future career.  

My objective is to obtain a work opportunity for Public Relations or a job relates to customer services, and brings my language ability into use. My previous study at Griffith uni has prepared me communication skills in writing and verbal speaking. Australia is a big place which include multiple cultural and races, I also have the knowledge of understanding people who come from different cultural backgrounds. I hope my language ability can help the company to draw a connection between the local residents and international tourists in regards to develop business market all around the world.


In my previous education background, I achieved an advanced level in general English study when I first came here.  I also studied about Information Technology, I learnt Microsoft operating systems, Office applications and basic knowledge of computer hardware. After that, I changed to another career industry and completed a 2 years course which is Diploma of Hospitality Management and Certificate III of Commercial Cookery.

In my past work experience, my job was always related to customer services and worked in hospitality industry. My first job was a shop assistant in a Chinese Duty Free Shop for 5 months in 2006. And then, I worked in 7-eleven convenience stores and Ice Tea Shop both for 6 months. I started working in stewarding, dish washing and cooking in different restaurants since I studied Commercial Cookery course in 2007. I worked as a Cook for 2 years in Bite restaurant in Jupiters Casino during 2007-2010. My present position is a casual waiter in River Penang restaurant in Robina town centre.


About my language ability, Chinese (Mandarin) and Hokkien are my first language. The second, I can speak and understand fluent Cantonese. The third, I have been learning Japanese for two years at Griffith uni and achieved in an intermediate level. The last, I can speak and read basic Korean which I have learnt for 3 months in the last semester.

Nevertheless, I am seeking for a PR internship opportunity of 80 hours work. I am willing to learn in different work experiences and challenge as much as I can during this part of my personal development in Australia. I will appreciate of gaining employment experience with your company.
